What exactly is an Integrated Mental Health Practitioner?


What exactly is an integrated mental health therapist? This is a question that I get asked by not only potential new students, but I have been asked this by other Mental Health Therapists and Life Coaches. (note big difference. I do not regard you as a patient, you do not have a clinical illness. You do however have a high chance of being someone who has gaps in your mental health development. As a student of My Plan For Life, it is my challenge to firstly diagnose what challenges you face in life, is it low self-esteem?, Abandonment issues?, ADHD?, Autism?, Depression? Tourette’s Syndrome, PTSD or any one of dozens of other matters which is blocking your happiness and stopping you from enjoying the things you perceive other people around you seem to take for granted.


The thing is, today in modern Great Britain, we have been educated to make allowances for people with Mental Health issues, this is wonderful, because at last people with conditions are being recognised and the so called ‘normal people’ are becoming much more accommodating in integrating mental health issue sufferers within our businesses, in sport and in all walks of life. This is all well and good but as someone who knows that they ‘just don’t feel great, who have issues that makes them feel like they are on the outside of the bubble looking in and not knowing why. How do you feel about this?

I have found that when I discuss with my students how they feel about people treating them differently, the opinion is pretty universal they nearly always say, “I wish I didn’t have the issue and then nobody would need to treat me differently, I just want to be the same as everyone else”, I personally can fully understand and appreciate that, because this all comes down to how we as human beings are programmed. We are social animals, and we like to be part of ‘the Pack’. 


It was this realisation that drove me to start this practice, I want to show you how you can be an ‘integral’ part of your own restoration to normality, I can’t do it for you, so I cannot take the credit for you recovering in a way which will be obvious not only to you but to those people who you love and who really love you, your friends will notice, your work colleagues will notice. In a short time you will get the question “what’s changed about you?” , “you seem different, much more confident?”, the only person who can make this happen is you.


I can only give you the tools and the techniques necessary to recognise the changes you need to make, the small tasks that I will set you so you can practice being ‘the new you’, the you that you have always dreamed of becoming. The happier and more in control you.


So my job is to integrate you into the program, to introduce you to yourself, to coach monitor and assist you where necessary, to make the progress you want to make to be on that journey to the life you always wanted and deserved.

There’s a saying that I always use, “The soul becomes dyed with the colour of its thoughts” (Marcus Aurelius -Roman Philosopher). If I can help you change the colour of the way you think, then your soul will respond and before long things will look and become very different.
